Music

30 Sep

I read some thing that said that there isn’t really any proof that playing music while the baby is in the womb really stimulates brain development.

Well, Aaron was playing his guitar last night and I was listening to music today,  and the little baby definitely reacted to it because she was moving like crazy both times. And then after I turned off the music she stopped moving as much. Either she really likes it, or really doesn’t.  Apparently, music has to stimulate something.

Menu Links for Pregnancy

30 Sep

I got off of the eating healthy track for a while. It is so hard to eat healthy when you work somewhere with cheese fries, cake + icecream, and fried foods floating around you all day. But I need to get back on track especially for the baby and because eating a healthy, balanced diet will help fight getting sick.  I’m doing some research for menu ideas and these are some good links I’ve found:

22 weeks

25 Sep

For the past two weeks I’ve been waking up right around 8:00 almost everyday. I try to sleep in, but my body is like “nope, you’re really not tired! time to get up!” So weird, I usually can sleep in forever.

Oh yeah, baby is starting to kick hard enough to where I can see my stomach move! So weird. Yesterday she was kicking like crazy, but today seems like shes getting her rest now from her little workout.

So, just so you know how much my body has changed, I have moved from a size 2 dress to a size 8 in less than 5 months. It was very hard at first, I was not ready at all and did not expect how fast it would change. Now that I’ve had time to get used to it, the changes don’t bother me at all especially knowing I have a little baby inside me and I am supposed to be growing like this! I’m trying to prevent stretch marks, but they like to suddenly appear in every place besides my stomach. So I just constantly smell like lotion now.

Update/ Good News

23 Sep

At the 20 week sonogram the doctor also found a cyst on the baby’s brain. Basically, it is just fluid and it usually disappears after a couple weeks. The doctor wasn’t really worried about it because everything else is completely normal. But, it is always good to double check everything so this morning I went to another doctor who is more specialized in areas such as this. The cyst was still there, but the second doctor said it is nothing to worry about. Cysts can not cause damadge, but can be a sign or “marker” of something else wrong. That is why they wanted me to go to another doctor to double check. Thankfully, there were no other signs or “markers” that accompanied the cyst, which is why the doctor is not worried.

Of course, I did my browsing on the internet of other people who have encountered the same situation. Out of the hundreds of stories I read, they were all exactly the same. Only one person actually had a problem. The reason why it is more common these days to find it is simply because the equipment is better and can pick up on things more easily.

Anyway, so all of that is good now. Now, I just have to get over this cold that I have. I stayed home from work today and hopefully I’ll get better before I get worse. Time for chicken noodle soup!

Other random updates:

Tomorrow I’ll be 22 weeks pregnant

I weight around 126lbs.

Baby weighs 15oz.

In the sonogram today, our little girl was all tucked and curled like how the girls dive of the diving board in the olympics. Her legs and feet were all the way up by her head. For examlple: hehe..

Boy or Girl?

11 Sep

My appointment this morning ran a little late. The lady who does the sonogram was stuck in traffic on her way to work b/c of all the rain and a wreck on the highway. So, I didn’t get to go in until an hour after I was scheduled.

I went in to do the sonogram and you could see everything clearly, except for a while the baby just stayed in the same spot. Of course it was in a spot where you couldn’t tell anything. But, I could see the feet, hands, legs, heart, etc. Finally, the baby started moving around and was like, “okay, i’ll let you know if you really want”. It was so clear that the baby is A GIRL!! The lady who does the sonogram (i dunno her official name) said she has been doing this for 12 years and has never been wrong. And it was pretty clear to me too, no question!

I ‘m so excited! Aaron is going to have to get used to having everything be pink! Hehe.

The baby is healthy, I just probably still need to be eating more but everything else is looking good!

Here are some pictures of our baby girl!!

Labor Day

9 Sep

It was great to see everyone this weekend at my grandma’s house! We had a surprise baby shower for my Aunt who is also pregnant! She is about ten weeks ahead of me, so crazy! She is having their thrid little girl!

Friday we find out if the baby is a boy or a girl! Woohoo! Can’t wait! My appointment is at 9:30 in the morning. Aaron’s work won’t let him off, which we knew this would be the case. It isn’t a big deal cause I understand that he really can’t miss work. Fortunately, they can make a DVD copy of the sonogram so he can watch it all! Maybe I can figure out a way to upload it later on! But yeah, it will be hard to hold it in and not tell everyone!

Tomorrow I will be 20 weeks along. Yay! I’m halfway there! The baby is 6-61/2 inches big from head to bottom and 10 inches from head to heal.  It has all gone by so fast so far! I’m starting to see a couple more symptoms such as a faint Linea Nigra (line down my stomach). All that is is just a sign of increased hormones. And, sometimes if I’m really hungry, I can feel the baby start moving around. Funny. Maybe it is a boy; it needs to eat a lot! Ha.

Oh yeah, and I finally got up and worked out this morning! It made me really miss doing that everyday!

Random Thoughts

3 Sep

I’ve already talked about this, but it is cool to feel it move and kick more frequently. The coolest part is being able to feel the kicks getting stronger and stronger. The little baby is growing and is about six inches big! I think this is the only time in life where it is “cool” or “exciting” to be kicked, haha.

Creepy!

3 Sep

So yesterday, we were driving and Aaron says, “what is that?! does anyone else here that?” I didn’t hear anything at first. I turned down the radio, and sure enough there was the sound of a recording of someone’s voice singing. It was so creepy because it was singing children’s songs and we had no idea where it was coming from. Finally, we traced the sound under the seat where we found this little kid’s toy with sing-along-songs and games. I guess we hit a bump and it turned on and apparently the people who had our car before us had a little kid!

P.S. Does anyone else just think it is so weird how a baby looks like two people at the same time? Yes, I know we all do and it freaks me out everytime I think about it! Strange how the baby will look like Aaron and I at the same time. Wahh.

Blogging

1 Sep

One of the things that has really helped get my through all these crazy changes has been reading other people’s “baby blogs”. It makes it so much more easier and comfortable to see other people going through the same thing right around the same time. It is even crazy to read blogs from people in different countries all going through the same kind of things no matter how big or small.
